The 64" VersaUV LEJ-640 Flatbed printer prints CMYK, white and clear coat on virtually any substrate up to a half-inch thick from films to Gatorfoam®. Now with just one device, you can explore a world of applications, from packaging prototypes and POP to wide-format signage, décor, exhibits and window displays.
The LEJ-640 VersaUV outperforms traditional CMYK printers with the addition of white and clear inks that together open up a new world of design options. With high-opacity white ink, you can print crisp, bright text and graphics on a range of coloured and transparent media. Layers of clear ink can finish your graphics into striking gloss, embossing and matte finishes which is perfect for premium brands
LEJ-640 has the ability to print on a vast array of substrates including 4’ x 8’ board stocks up to 13mm (1/2 inch) thick, the VersaUV LEJ-640 printer is perfect for large format signage and point of sale displays, window graphics, exhibition displays and interior décor items. The 1440 x 1440 dpi print mode produces realistic one-off packaging proofs and prototypes with flawlessly smooth gradations, super fine details and sharp text on actual substrates used for production. The Roland VersaUV flatbed printer prints directly onto many offset, rotogravure and flexo substrates to generate highly accurate proofs at a fraction of your current cost and time..
The LEJ series supports ECO-UV inks in two formulations: original ECO-UV in CMYK, white and clear and ECO-UV S ink in CMYK and white.
As the most versatile ink configuration, CMYK + White + Clear can be used for a wide range of applications including packaging prototypes, labels, high end press-proofs and unique textured graphics. (ECO-UV only)
The CMYK + White + White mode achieves higher opacity without slowing down the printing with overprinting. It’s perfect for white text and graphics, undercoats and to enhance the brightness of four-color prints. The white produced with this ink configuration can be up to 1.5 times more opaque than the normal white, all without requiring a complicated workflow or overprinting. Choose from ECO-UV or ECO-UV S formulations.
A built-in sensor checks for proper media thickness preventing head strikes and ensures highly reliable, 1440x1440 dpi printing on the widest range of substrates.
The VersaUV's ability to reposition its twin UV-LED lamps automatically increases productivity in high quality modes and allows simulation of matte and gloss varnishing effects.
The LEJ-640 features large UV-LED lamps to expedite production with a maximum print speed of 133 sqft./hr. in High Speed mode. The 1440x1440 dpi mode produces press-proofs with flawlessly smooth gradations, super fine details and sharp text on actual substrates used for production. Roland Intelligent Pass Control™ ensures consistent print quality with virtually no signs of banding in all print modes.
VersaUV LED lamps last up to 10,000 hours, ten times longer than conventional UV lamps.
LED lamps can be turned on and off instantly and are ready to use immediately after the printer is turned on. By contrast, conventional curing systems may take up to ten minutes to reach the targeted output level. Conventional curing systems also require complex, noisy and failure-prone shutter systems to protect substrates and head capping systems from exposure to UV light and heat.
VersaWorks RIP software has been developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP ensures exceptional production output with unmatched ease of use and incorporates the latest Adobe CPSI 3019 engine.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system which accurately reproduces more than 1,000 spot colors from color charts and swatch books. For the VersaUV series, VersaWorks also includes the Roland Texture Library featuring 72 ready-to-use textures that can be applied to designs by layering the LEJ’s clear coat ink. For white ink applications, you can select from either single pass or dual pass modes.
VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, soft proofing capabilities, error diffusion for outstanding print quality and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. Support for Roland cutters allows you to pair the LEJ with a Roland cutter to cut flexible media in a seamless workflow. VersaWorks is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000
Across a wide variety of applications and media, Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology delivers outstanding image quality in all print modes while eliminating virtually any signs of banding. First introduced in the SOLJET PRO III series, this patent-pending system ensures that graphics look great when viewed indoors or outdoors, up close and at a distance.
